Nurse Prescribing Course Specifically Designed for Nurses Working in the Cosmetic Injectable Market.
JANUARY 2012 UPDATE - PASS RATE CURRENTLY RUNNING AT 85%
The V300 course can be undertaken at many universities around the U.K. However some universities are reluctant to enrol self funding nurses due to a lack of suitable clinical support mechanisms being in place to help the nurse during the course. The staff at Intraderm @ The Ashleigh Clinic are sympathetic to the needs of the aesthetic nurse. They have teamed up with De Montfort University Leicester to offer the V300 course complete with aesthetic support. The aim is to compliment the V300 prescribing course with information that addresses prescribing issues that will face the newly qualified prescribing aesthetic nurse and to take on the role of support manager for those who are self funding and self employed.
The normal basic V300 course material is taught by staff from the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences Department at De Montfort University. Staff from Intraderm @ The Ashleigh Clinic provide lectures and support on clinical matters pertinent to the aesthetic nurse prescriber. We organise these lectures to form part of the mandatory logged time that needs to be spent with a prescriber. This means that a reduced number of hours are then required to be spent with a doctor mentor. This convenience makes the course very suitable for the busy aesthetic practitioner.
Many nurses find that studying with other aesthetic nurses is a huge bonus and a wonderful support to them. It is a challenging course and to be surrounded by nurses from your own speciality during this time can be very reassuring.
We encourage potential delegates to look at all options open to them regarding studying for the V300 qualification. If the convenience of having over half of your mandatory logged time planned for you and the comfort of being with other aesthetic practitioners whilst studying for this qualification appeals to you then this course based at De Montfort University Leicester could be for you.
Alternatively you may wish to apply to a university local to where you live but still access aesthetic support from us as this subject is not normally covered at universities elsewhere. If this option the V300 Aesthetic Support and Advice Package (ASAP) interests you then please click on the information button below, just under the picture of The Ashleigh Clinic.

Is this an NMC recognised and registered course?
This course is provided by the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences at De Montfort University Leicester. The modules have been developed in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council 'Standards of Proficiency for Nurse and Midwife Prescribers' (2006) and with guidance from the Department of Health. The 'Competency Framework for Prescribing' written by the National Prescribing Centre (NPC) has also been used as guidance and as a framework for the practice assessment. All modules are approved by the professional bodies concerned.
Following successful completion of the module, nurses will have their NMC registration annotated with the words “Nurse Independent/Supplementary Prescriber (V300)”
Who Can Apply for the Combined V300 Course With Built in Aesthetic Support?
This course is for registered nurses who meet the university entry criteria. It may be particularly suitable for nurses working in the private sector who have found it difficult to access a prescribing course due to the following:
- Difficulty finding a doctor mentor to provide compulsory clinical support.
- Time issues – full time courses do not allow for work and family committments
- Funding issues - expensive if self-funding
If you have faced these challenges, then we may be able to help you – visit the Course Details page for more information.
